Ferg
attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Québec, the Ecole des Beaux-Arts
de Montréal, the Vancouver School of Art and is a graduate of the
Université du Quebec à Montréal. He has been the editorial cartoonist
at The Westmount Examiner newspaper since 1988 and, in both 1999
received the Premier Award for best cartoon from the Canadian Community
Newspapers Association and the Premier Award in 2000 and 2001 from the
Quebec Community Newspapers Association. His cartoons have also
appeared in The Montreal Gazette.
His special sense of humor and
artistic talent have also brought interesting outlets for his work.
Besides caricatures appearing regularly in Tennismag, his drawings and
sketches appeared in Alan Rudolph's film The Moderns and Claude
Fournier's Les Moulins du Pouvoir, the television series Diva and
tribu.com, and the documentary The Life and Times of Louise Arbour. His
caricatures of the Canadian Men's Olympic Gymnastics Team were carried
by the team during the opening ceremonies of the 1988 Seoul Olympics
and over 150 of his cartoons are catalogued in the Canadian National
Archives.
